Anon
I wonder at random words. Today, it’s “anon”.
I recently read an article that thought poorly of Orwell’s influence on the use of plain language and smaller, easier to understand words: here, here! Why not show off your extensive vocabulary with the artful intertwining of language?
a·non/əˈnɒn/
From dictionary.com: adverb. (1) in a short time; soon. (2) at another time. (3) Archaic. at once; immediately.
Don’t mistake this as a relation to anonymous, a word of completely different origin. Anonymous can be confused with: anomalous, euonymus, unanimous.
