Right Pissed

I’m pissed off. Mostly at myself. I went to the Y yesterday after work. After listening to the same music over and over on my shuffle, decided it was time for a selection update. Then I left my iPod on top of a shelf of baskets in the change room. Yup, it’s gone. The water bottle that I left sitting next to it was still there when I frantically biked to the Y. Damn, damn, damn.

I like to believe in the goodness of people: I’m an optimist. I like to think that, like me, if someone finds something of value they’ll try to return it to it’s owner. I hate being disappointed. The counter guy at the Y said that sometimes people forget to drop things by the desk on the way out: it’s a small thing, it could happen, right?

Bonus! Found a toonie under the shelf while I was crawling around on the floor hoping to find my iPod. Woo.

October 22: Faith in Humanity Restored!

I posted a little sign on a bulletin board in the ladies change room hoping to encourage the person who found the ipod to return it… They did! And they even attached the sign to it. My belief in the goodness of people has been restored.
