If You Liked That, Then You’ll Like These

Did you like Tucker and Dale vs. Evil? Then you’ll probably enjoy and appreciate both Cooties and Night of the Living Deb.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

“Two friends on vacation at their dilapidated mountain house are mistaken for murderous backwoods hillbillies by a group of spring-breakers.” (Rotten Tomatoes)

  • IMDb: 7.6 (me: 9)
  • Rotten Tomatoes %: 84/84 (critics/audience)

I’ve watched this three times(!); I’m definitely going to watch it again.

Night of the Living Deb

“After a girls’ night out, endearingly awkward Deb wakes up in the apartment of the most attractive guy in Portland, Maine. She’s thrilled, but she can’t remember much of what got her there. Pretty boy Ryan knows it was a mistake and ushers her out the door… into a full-scale zombie apocalypse.” (IMDb)

  • IMDb: 5.6 (me: 7)
  • Rotten Tomatoes %: (no rating)

A bit predictable at times (i.e., blossoming into a beautiful woman with makeup, heels and a blow-out), it’s still entertaining and irreverent.

Cooties

“When a cafeteria food virus turns elementary school children into killer zombies, a group of misfit teachers must band together to escape the playground carnage.” (Rotten Tomatoes)

  • IMDb: 5.7 (me: 8)
  • Rotten Tomatoes %: 43/39 (critics/audience)

This was a surprise as the reviews for it are so poor, but children attacking and consuming adults is pretty wicked along with the creative ways the zombie children are dealt with.
