Cold Fish (dir. Shion Sono) is a disturbingly good movie. The trailer certainly doesn’t do it justice: it’s disjointed and looks like it could be either really boring or too weird.

It’s a 2.5 hour film based on a true story. The pacing can seem a bit slow at times, but it helps set the mood. It’s got some pretty extreme gore. If I had to liken it to anything, I’d say: Coen Brothers, David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino, covered in miso dressing.
